The prolific furniture business of father and son William and John Linnell was based in Berkeley Square, London. They were ranked among the finest cabinet-makers of their time.
John Linnell was William Linnell’s eldest son. He trained as a designer at the prestigious St. Martin’s Lane Academy, founded by William Hogarth in 1735. He joined the business in 1749 and took it over after his father’s death in 1763.
